Interior decorative finish with “metal sheet” effect
Zeus is a decorative coating for interiors with a gold or silver “metallic sheet” effect. It is composed of a special copolymer, selected metallic pigments and rheological modifiers that guarantee an excellent workability of the product.
Application:
- The substrate must be perfectly dry, dust-free, with no humidity and salt stains.
- Resurface or consolidate the surface with specific products if necessary.
- In case of mould, treat the surface with suitable specific products.
- Brush or remove any efflorescence and old peeling paint.
- Higher layers of old lime-based paint and tempera paint must be removed.
- Brush out dust, smog or other deposits before the application.
- In case of chalky wall and/or non-compact surfaces, apply with brush one layer of Decofix (micronized clear sealer) diluted.
- On compact substrate, apply with brush or roller one layer of Novaprimer (water-based acrylic pigmented sealer) diluted.
“Metal sheet” effect:
Clean the surface and smooth down all the irregularities, then apply with a stainless steel trowel a first smooth layer of Zeus.
Work gently into the surface still wet in order to remove the exceeding amounts of product, if any.
When the surface is properly dry, generally after 6 hours, apply with a stainless steel trowel a second layer of Zeus.
For site requirements, it is possible to apply a third layer of Zeus with the same procedure.
Drying time: 24 hours depending on the kind of substrate and its absorption rate, in stable atmospheric conditions.
Oxidized Effect:
On dry surface apply, with roller or brush, two layers of IRONic Fondo diluted.
When the surface is properly dry, after 8 hours, apply with a stainless steel trowl one layer of Zeus without covering the entire surface.
When the first layer is completely dry, apply a second layer of Zeus with the above-described procedure.
When the surface has dried out completely, proceed with the oxidation, through the application of IRONic Liquido Antichizzante on the part of surface not covered by Zeus.
After at least 2 hours, it is possible to repeat the application of IRONic Liquido Antichizzante. The quantity of product to be used depends on the desired effect.
Drying time: 24 hours depending on the kind of substrate and its absorption rate, in stable atmospheric conditions.
The application of IRONic Liquido Antichizzante on Zeus Gold can activate the oxidation.
May also be applied over:
- New and old plasters.
- Concrete surfaces.
- Plasterboard surfaces.
- Old paints and organic or mineral coatings, as long as dry, compact, absorbent and cohesive.
- Various absorbent mineral conglomerates.
Approximate coverage yields 6-9 m2/l in two layers, depending on the type of substrate, absorption and type of realized effect. It is always advisable to carry out preliminary tests at site in order to determine the right yield of the system.
