High gloss mineral “stucco”, for interior decoration

Mirror is a lime-based stucco finish, with special additives to improve the gloss. It is made of “grassello” lime putty, selected inerts and rheological modifiers that ensure an easy-to-apply material.

Mirror is recommended for the decoration of prestigious interior walls. Natural lime plasters represent Mirror’s most suitable substrates, since the product reacts chemically with them, building up a unique “body” able to preserve the lime coating for a longer period of time.

Application:

  1. The substrate must be perfectly dry, dust-free, with no humidity and salt stains.
  2. Resurface or consolidate the surface with specific products if necessary.
  3. In case of mould, treat the surface with suitable specific products.
  4. Brush or remove any efflorescence and old peeling paint.
  5. Higher layers of old lime-based paint and tempera paint must be removed.
  6. Brush out dust, smog or other deposits before the application.
  7. In case of non-homogeneous or chalky surfaces, apply one layer of Decofix (micronized wall sealer) diluted, with a brush.
  8. Over dry and compact substrates, apply one layer of Novaprimer (water-based acrylic pigmented primer), diluted, with a brush.
  9. Once the surface is completely dry, apply one smooth layer of Marmorino KS (lime-based plaster) with a stainless steel trowel.
  10. Smooth or remove eventual exceeding amount of product.
  11. Wait the surface to dry, then apply one smooth layer of Mirror with a stainless steel trowel.
  12. Wait the surface to dry, then apply a second layer of Mirror with a stainless steel trowel.
  13. After at least 12 hours, sand the surface with paper, remove dust and proceed with the application of Mirror in small portions of the wall.
  14. When the product starts to set, polish the surface with a stainless steel trowel in order to make it more compact and glossy.
  15. Drying time: 24 hours approx. depending on the kind of substrate, absorption rate and environmental conditions.

May also be applied over:

  • Lime and cement mortars
  • Premixed renderings
  • Pre-existing lime and gypsum plasters
  • Gypsum plasterboards

Approximate coverage yields 2-4 m2/kg, depending on the desired effect
