About

The U.S. studio of Stucco + Stucco, founded in England.

Stucco + Stucco Indiana is the first U.S. studio of Stucco + Stucco, an Italian plaster practice founded in England. Michaelangelo and Holly Bruno established the Indiana studio in 2023.

Michaelangelo Bruno

Artisan. Co-owner.

Michaelangelo is a Novacolor-certified artisan and the hands behind every Stucco + Stucco wall. He continuously trains in Italy and England, including alongside Andy Robinson, owner of the original Stucco + Stucco studio in England and one of the leading Novacolor educators in the world. The international community of artisans doing this work is small, and the craft itself is a constant study: new techniques, new materials, new ways of approaching a wall. He is always learning. Before specializing in Italian plaster, he ran custom high-end residential projects as a general contractor. That work gave him the eye for overseeing a job at this level: coordinating trades, managing standards, and knowing what a finished wall depends on before it is ever started. Every substrate inspected. Every wall worked by hand.

Holly Bruno, PhD

Co-Owner & Gallery Director.

Holly runs the commercial side of the studio: operations, marketing, design industry partnerships, specification consultations, sample work, proposals, and gallery visits with architects, designers, and homeowners. She holds a PhD and taught at the university level before moving into construction alongside Michaelangelo. Her work with the studio draws on a background in research, teaching, and project management: explaining complex material decisions clearly, running specifications with precision, and managing projects from first conversation through final install.

The studio

Our gallery is at the Indiana Design Center in Carmel. Designers and architects are welcome during Design Center hours. Homeowners by appointment.
