High gloss mineral “stucco”, for interior decoration
Mirror is a lime-based stucco finish, with special additives to improve the gloss. It is made of “grassello” lime putty, selected inerts and rheological modifiers that ensure an easy-to-apply material.
Mirror is recommended for the decoration of prestigious interior walls. Natural lime plasters represent Mirror’s most suitable substrates, since the product reacts chemically with them, building up a unique “body” able to preserve the lime coating for a longer period of time.
Application:
- The substrate must be perfectly dry, dust-free, with no humidity and salt stains.
- Resurface or consolidate the surface with specific products if necessary.
- In case of mould, treat the surface with suitable specific products.
- Brush or remove any efflorescence and old peeling paint.
- Higher layers of old lime-based paint and tempera paint must be removed.
- Brush out dust, smog or other deposits before the application.
- In case of non-homogeneous or chalky surfaces, apply one layer of Decofix (micronized wall sealer) diluted, with a brush.
- Over dry and compact substrates, apply one layer of Novaprimer (water-based acrylic pigmented primer), diluted, with a brush.
- Once the surface is completely dry, apply one smooth layer of Marmorino KS (lime-based plaster) with a stainless steel trowel.
- Smooth or remove eventual exceeding amount of product.
- Wait the surface to dry, then apply one smooth layer of Mirror with a stainless steel trowel.
- Wait the surface to dry, then apply a second layer of Mirror with a stainless steel trowel.
- After at least 12 hours, sand the surface with paper, remove dust and proceed with the application of Mirror in small portions of the wall.
- When the product starts to set, polish the surface with a stainless steel trowel in order to make it more compact and glossy.
- Drying time: 24 hours approx. depending on the kind of substrate, absorption rate and environmental conditions.
May also be applied over:
- Lime and cement mortars
- Premixed renderings
- Pre-existing lime and gypsum plasters
- Gypsum plasterboards
Approximate coverage yields 2-4 m2/kg, depending on the desired effect
