Decorative architectural trowel-on coating for interiors, with matte metallic effect

Dune Opaco is a decorative coating for interiors with matte metallic charges that creates high-end visual effects and a stunning game of light and shades.

Dune Opaco represents the expression of Novacolor commitment to the environmental sustainability. To reduce the “carbon footprint”, Dune Opaco is formulated with a special binder, made from sustainable biomass, that replaces the fossil raw materials.

This is possible thanks to a technical-productive system called “mass balance approach” certified REDcert².

Application:

  1. The substrate must be perfectly dry, dust-free, with no humidity and salt stains.
  2. Resurface or consolidate the surface with specific products if necessary.
  3. In case of mould, treat the surface with suitable specific products.
  4. Brush or remove any efflorescence and old peeling paint.
  5. Higher layers of old lime-based paint and tempera paint must be removed.
  6. Brush out dust, smog or other deposits before the application.
  7. In case of non-homogeneous or chalky surfaces, apply one layer of Decofix (micronized wall sealer) diluted, with a brush.
  8. Over dry and compact substrates, apply one layer of Novaprimer (water-based acrylic pigmented primer), diluted, with a brush or with a roller.
  9. Over dry primer, apply one layer of Dune Opaco with a roller or with a stainless steel trowel, spreading the paint evenly. Remove any exceeding amounts of product.
  10. Once the surface is completely dry, apply a second layer of Dune Opaco, not diluted, with a stainless steel trowel or with a short-hair roller using a bit more material.
  11. Work into the surface still wet using a stainless steel trowel with circular movements, working the product until reaching the desired effect.
  12. Drying time: 24 hours approx. depending on the kind of substrate, absorption rate and environmental conditions.

Dune Opaco creates velvet-like chromatic effects that are perfectly matching the modern concept of high-end decoration of interior walls in modern environments.

Approximate coverage yields 8-10 m2/l, in two layers, depending on the kind of substrate and its absorption rate.
